Who we are

Links of Beauty is a salon in Yateley, Hampshire offering semi-permanent make-up and hairdressing. It is run by Rebecca, the salon's owner and lead artist. For the purposes of this policy, we are the "data controller" — the small business responsible for the information described below.

What we collect

• Booking form

  Your name, phone number, email address, the treatment you are interested in, and any notes you add.

• Calls, WhatsApp and Messenger

  Whatever you tell us in the conversation — the same kind of details you would share at the salon desk.

• Email

  Your email address and your message when you write to us.

• Website visit (with your consent)

  Google Analytics statistics such as page views and rough location, and advertising measurement, but only after you tick the matching box. See our Cookie policy for the full picture.

• What we never collect

  No payment details through this website, no identity documents, and no health information unless you choose to tell us in a message so we can look after you safely.

How we use it

One purpose: replying to you and arranging your consultation or appointment. When you submit the booking form, your details are stored in the salon's booking system and sent to our bookings email address so we can pick them up and answer. If you are a client, we keep a short record of your treatments so we can carry out patch tests and follow-up appointments properly — for example the complimentary top-up included with semi-permanent make-up.

We rely on your consent for the optional website statistics, and on our legitimate interest in running the salon for everything else — you contacted us first, and none of this involves marketing to people who haven't.

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the salon: the company that hosts this website and its booking system, our email provider, and — with your consent — Google for the anonymous visit statistics and ad measurement described in the Cookie policy. WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger conversations live on those companies' systems under their own privacy policies. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Enquiries we never turned into appointments are kept only while they are still useful — long enough to answer you and hold a possible booking — and then removed. Client records are kept for as long as you remain a client, and for the period afterwards that good salon practice and our insurers require. If you would like your details removed sooner, just ask.

Your choices and rights

  Ask and we will send you the details we hold about you.

• Corrections

  If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

• Deletion

  Ask us to remove your details and we will, unless we genuinely need to keep something for a legal or insurance reason — we will always explain if so.

• Cookie choices

  Analytics and advertising are off unless you tick them, and you can change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

• Complaining

  You can complain to us first — or to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, the UK's data authority.

Security

Booking details are sent over an encrypted connection and stored with the website's hosting platform, which restricts access to the salon. We treat your details the way we would want ours treated: carefully, and only by the people who need them.

If anything changes

If what we collect or how we use it ever changes, this page will be updated and dated first. You will never find us quietly doing something with your details that this page does not mention.
